Camren Brumett, 21, was indicted Monday on charges of failure to comply and receiving stolen property. This ain't no joyride, folks. Police say Brumett was behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle when he decided to play Grand Theft Auto in real life, putting everyone on the road at risk.
The Chase: From Franklin to Centerville Chaos
The whole mess kicked off on June 13. Franklin police tracked the hot car to a Speedway on East Second Street. But as soon as officers rolled up, Brumett hit the gas, sparking a high-speed pursuit.
Cruiser cam footage reportedly shows Brumett pushing speeds north of 100 miles per hour. This ain't your grandma's Sunday drive; this was pure recklessness. Cops ultimately had to back off when Brumett started swerving into oncoming traffic, a move that screams 'no regard for human life.'
Crash and Burn: Archer's Tavern Takes a Hit
The chase might have been called off, but Brumett's joyride was far from over. Word soon came down that the stolen vehicle had been found — upside down — right in front of Archer's Tavern in Centerville.
According to a social media post from the tavern itself, the crash was so gnarly it took out two utility poles. Can you imagine the scene? Power out, car flipped, and a whole lot of questions.
